Hybrid Pathway In partnership with the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), we will be launching a hybrid pathway in summer 2024. Students in the hybrid pathway will have the option to live in their local community throughout their DPT education and travel to the UCCS Campus for approximately 7-14 days of intensive lab immersion within each semester or learning block. The rest of the course content occurs online in synchronous or asynchronous format. The hybrid track blends the convenience of online learning with the excellence of in-person lab immersion experiences throughout the educational experience. The first hybrid cohort will begin in summer 2024; our application is open annually in PTCAS from mid-June through early October. For the summer 2024 cohort, there will be one application in PTCAS through which prospective students will select their preference for the hybrid track or our (continuing) residential program based on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. For further information about the hybrid pathway, please refer to our FAQ page. We also recommend that prospective students attend one of our monthly virtual information sessions. DPT-PhD Pathway The DPT-PhD pathway facilitates a viable educational plan for promising students with a strong interest in academic physical therapy and rehabilitation science. This collaborative dual degree pathway between the CU Physical Therapy Program and the Rehabilitation Science PhD Program provides an efficient approach to earning both the clinical doctorate and the research doctorate. Students who fulfill all the requirements of the DPT-PhD pathway will have an anticipated PhD degree completion time of 3 to 3.5 years. However, this time estimate may vary depending on the nature of the dissertation project, student progress in the didactic and laboratory-based learning requirements, and other factors. Visit this link to learn more about the DPT-PhD pathway. DPT-MPH Track The mission of the 3.5-year CU DPT-MPH track is to prepare students as transformative leaders, capable of working alongside diverse communities to build healthy communities and advance health equity. Application to the MPH program will occur during Year 2 of the DPT program. Applicants for the MPH program must be current DPT students on track to successfully complete their second professional year of the DPT curriculum. Visit this link to learn more about the DPT-MPH track. Please feel free to send specific questions about our program to PT.Admissions@cuanschutz.edu.
