Course Prerequisites
General Information
* All prerequisite coursework MUST be taken at a regionally accredited institution.

* The following courses may NOT be used towards the UNLVPT prerequisite course complement: pass/fail courses, coursework older than 10 years, and advanced placement (AP) courses which do not appear on an official transcript with both a letter grade and assigned grade points .

* Temporary COVID-19 update: Given that some colleges/universities have required Pass/Fail grades, and others have made it optional, all applications will be reviewed without prejudice. However, we recommend taking prerequisite courses for letter grades if given the option for the Spring and Summer 2021 semesters.

* Definition of older than 10 years: For the current admission cycle, prerequisite courses taken prior to the fall semester/quarter of 2011 will NOT be considered.

* Prerequisite courses may be completed at either a 2-year or 4-year institution, however it is recommended that the majority of the prerequisite course complement be completed at a 4-year university/college versus a junior college.
Anatomy and/or Physiology (A&P) course prerequisites MUST be completed in biology, neuroscience, anatomy, or integrated physiology department

Anatomy & Physiology I
Temporary COVID-19 update: A&P labs taken during spring 2020, summer 2020, fall 2020 or spring of 2021 which were forced into an on-line format will be accepted. For all other terms, on-line A&P labs will not be accepted. ALL A&P coursework MUST be complete by the end of the fall 2021 Semester and grades must be submitted and available via the PTCAS academic update. A&P coursework that is "in progress" during the spring 2021 semester will NOT be considered towards the prerequisite course requirements. For students at a quarter-based institution: your school may offer a series of three - 5 quarter hour courses. In that event please "tag" all three of your courses on your PTCAS electronic transcript as both A&P 1 and A&P 2 prereqs. Coursework older than 10 years not accepted.
