General Information 
Admission into the USM DPT Program is competitive. Completion of the listed prerequisites does not guarantee admission into the program. Prerequisites are subject to annual change without notice.  If necessary, consult our DPT Director of Admissions for an analysis of your transcript.

Coursework older than 10 years is not accepted EXCEPT by written petition to the DPT Admission Committee for individual evaluation. This avenue will be available only after application submission.

Each course taken may only be applied to one prerequisite, with the exception of combined A&P courses. If you repeated prerequisite coursework, you must link all attempts to the individual prerequisites.
Anatomy and/or Physiology (A&P) course prerequisites MUST be completed in biology, neuroscience, anatomy, or integrated physiology department

Anatomy
Coursework older than 10 years will not be accepted
Anatomy: 1 semester required with lab. *6 semester-credit-hrs of COMBINED human A&P with lab are accepted for anatomy and physiology requirements. A 5 semester-credit-hour course in COMBINED A&P is acceptable ONLY if paired with additional advanced Anatomy OR Physiology coursework to complete the final 6th credit hour requirement. Preferred Courses : Human Anatomy, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Mammalian Anatomy.
