Updates to the interview process as of 9/9/2020: Due to issues surrounding having large groups of candidates on campus, we have elected to have virtual interviews. We will be holding different parts of the interview process throughout the month of December. There will be an asynchronous portion where candidates will record responses to interview questions and then a follow up synchronous meeting with the interview committee. Please see the general dates listed below. More specific detail will be posted as the date nears. • Asynchronous recording of interview questions will occur the Week of November 30th. • Synchronous follow up interviews will occur Saturday December 12th. • Zoom Synchronous small group meeting with current students mid-January. • Admitted student day mid-January to early February where those offered admissions can come visit campus for a day.

GRE update for the 2020-2021 Cycle The GRE exam is strongly recommended but will be optional for the 2020-2021 admissions cycle. GRE scores that are submitted will be considered but will not be a requirement for admission. Observation hours requirement for SRU for the 2020-2021 Cycle We recognize that obtaining the required observation hours may not be possible prior to our review of applicants beginning on November 2, 2020 due to the COVID-19 situation. We encourage you to obtain the 50 observation hours in two different settings, including tele-health prior to November 2. However, we will fully consider applicants who are unable to meet the minimum hour requirement (50 hours) or multiple setting requirement by November 2. If admitted, all required prerequisite courses and observation hours must be complete by June 1, 2021 for entry into the Fall 2021 cohort.

COVID UPDATE: Many healthcare settings have placed COVID restrictions on student observation and shadowing. For this reason, the WKU DPT Program is making the following changes for the 2020-21 cycle: Reference Requirements: 2 Letters are required, but there is no longer the requirement that one must be from a PT. We encourage you to obtain a letter from PT, but will accept reference letters from other individuals that would be able to speak to your character, work ethic, and professionalism. PT Observation Hours: PT hours are not required but are considered. We continue to believe any experience working, volunteering, or observing PT’s will give exposure for greater understanding regarding PT practice; however, your lack of ability obtaining PT Observation hours will not be scored when assessing your application. If you have not been able to interact with a PT and observe PT practice, we recommend you educate yourself regarding the field of physical therapy and the APTA.
