Our blended DPT program at Allen College offers flexible distance education and hands-on on-site lab immersions to students from across the country. This unique model of learning emphasizes application and clinical reasoning skills, while our small class size ensures engagement and collaboration, easy access to faculty for both traditional and non-traditional learners.
Our program???s curriculum uses innovative technology to create space in the virtual classroom for critical thinking and discussion, and our campus lab immersions bring to life classroom concepts, present chances to reason and practice, and instill skill confidence and competence???all in a newly renovated facility with labs, equipment, and study areas dedicated to physical therapy education.
To prepare students for the complex and ever-changing role of our physical therapy profession, clinical education is designed to provide student learning experiences for patients of all ages across the continuum of care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Our program has agreements with numerous clinical facilities regionally and nationally.
Our DPT program builds on Allen College???s over 90-year tradition of recognized excellence in healthcare education. Along with learning from a diverse group of accomplished DPT faculty, our program offers students opportunities for interprofessional learning and access to resources within the parent healthcare system, UnityPoint Health???one of the nation???s most integrated health systems.
