Program Description

The Hawai'i Pacific University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is hybrid, accelerated, and the first of its kind in Hawai'i. Students are able to reside anywhere in the US and complete the HPU DPT Program in two years, faster than the 30 - 36 months it takes to graduate from most traditional DPT programs. This means students are in the clinic treating patients and earning an income sooner. The HPU DPT experience includes the best of online distance education, hands-on lab immersions on HPU's beautiful downtown Honolulu campus, and 32 weeks of full-time clinical experiences. The program provides students the opportunity to complete clinical education across the US, including unique experiences on O'ahu, Maui, Hawai'i, Kauai, and other Pacific Islands.  Students take no more than four courses during each 8-week academic term to optimize learning by decreasing cognitive load.

Hawai`i Pacific University's innovative Doctor of Physical Therapy program develops movement specialists who provide evidence-informed, collaborative, and empathic care. We are committed to building a professional `ohana of diverse and open-minded leaders who anticipate and respond to the needs of the global community.
