In 1993, Creighton established the nation's first Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT), leading the entire profession. Creighton's Physical Therapy program offers students an ideal setting for innovative work with a focus on maintaining quality and dignity of life and enriching the human community.We are committed to leadership in clinical doctoral education through academic excellence, significant scholarly contributions, service to the community and fostering societal and professional dedication within our graduates. Our curriculum continues to evolve through integrated course content that reflects the dynamic and ever-changing health care landscape.Our faculty is comprised of nationally renowned leaders in the field who are dedicated to hands-on teaching, mentoring and addressing the needs of student learning. They average more than 15 years of clinical experience and serve the profession demonstrating national leadership in rehabilitation research and the advanced study of human motion. Our program is nationally recognized for research in clinical reasoning. Over 44 weeks of supervised clinical practice is provided in the curriculum - up to 9 weeks more training than the national average. PT students choose from more than 400 clinical training sites in the U.S. and foreign countries - including a third world opportunity in the Dominican Republic. Creighton is a Jesuit, Catholic institution with about 10,000 students. With nearly 35% of Creighton students in pursuit health science professional degrees, in addition to physical therapy, Creighton offers health science programs in occupational therapy, medicine, dentistry, physician assistant, nursing, and emergency management services. Creighton has a dynamic partnership with CHI Health, a regional health network of 14 hospitals, and more than 150 health clinics in Nebraska and southwestern Iowa.

Program gives priority for an interview invitation to applicants who completed all prerequisites at Creighton based on certain criteria in the form of a guaranteed interview (Creighton undergraduate applicants are encouraged to contact the Office of Admission for more information).
