Please upload your resume and proof of First Aid and CPR Certification in the documents section of the PTCAS application. If the certification is not completed at the time of application, email the certification to ptadmissions@cumc.columbia.edu no later than August 1, 2021. Missing prerequisites must be completed with official transcript(s) sent to the program no later than August 1, 2021. Official transcript showing receipt of undergraduate degree and date granted should be forwarded immediately post-graduation (undergraduate applicants) or at time of acceptance (post-baccalaureate applicants) but no later than August 7, 2021.
If the GRE is taken more than once, the best set of scores from any one testing date are considered. GRE® General Test and GRE® REVISED General Test are accepted.
One (1) letter from a physical therapist Two (2) letters of recommendation MUST be from professors who have instructed you in 1 or more courses. For applicants in their final year of undergraduate study, one (1) academic reference should be from a professor in the applicant's major area of study. Applicants who have been out of school for 3 or more years and are completing prerequisite course work as a post-baccalaureate student can use current professors as reference sources. An applicant who has documented experience in undergraduate or professional research can submit an additional letter of recommendation from the research advisor. Composite recommendations kept on file at the university and submitted by a pre-health/pre-medical committee or pre-health advisor are acceptable.
Letter of recommendation (required reference) from a physical therapist should provide a brief description of the facility and attest to hours completed.
Initial grade and repeated course grade are averaged in calculating the program-specific grade point average. Students wishing to enhance their undergraduate grade point are encouraged to take additional courses in the biological sciences.
