Additional information about program's reference requirements
Of the three references, one must be from a physical therapist and one must be from a college/university professor that you have been taught by. The third reference may be from any of the acceptable evaluators. Group references, such as those done by committee, will count as only ONE reference.

* PT Observation Hours requirement is not waived at this time but deadline will be extended if unable to complete hours due to clinical impact from COVID19, (3) at this point in time, we will require graded coursework for prerequisite courses from the Spring 2020 term. If your university has established a P/F policy that precludes you from having a graded option. Please contact bashley@clarkson.edu.  

* The total of 50 hours must be in two separate specialty settings (outpatient, acute care, skilled nursing, etc.)  The two specialty settings may be done in the same clinic. Applicants who use their experience as a patient for some of the observation hours may not use the same specialty setting, or the same clinic in which they received their PT treatment, for their second setting.

Program uses only highest grade earned in its local GPA calculations for required prerequisite courses when a course was repeated. For overall GPA calculations, all courses taken, including repeats, are included. Higher level courses MAY be acceptable and used when calculating GPA.

Any course with a grade less than C will not be acceptable in meeting the requirement of a prerequisite course.

Additional information about program's policy on foreign coursework
All applicants for whom English is a second language must take an English language equivalency exam. Clarkson University accepts TOEFL or IELTS scores. Official scores should be submitted directly from the testing company to the University. Although Clarkson’s graduate program requires the submission of TOFEL/IELTS scores for the completion of their application file, the School of Arts & Sciences does not have a minimum score requirement for these exams. All applications are evaluated on the merits of all information received.
