Program Description

About Our Program

The Department of Physical Therapy at Sacramento State was established in 1995 to prepare health care practitioners to serve the community and region. Since its inception, the Physical Therapy Department has been dedicated to the success and professional development of all students so that they are prepared to provide excellent care to the diverse communities they serve. Over the years, Sacramento State's physical therapy graduates have been destined for jobs in their choice of practice setting. The Sacramento State program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), and graduates are eligible to take the national licensure examination. Our graduates from the last three years have an overall passing rate of 100% on the examination, and 100% of new graduates responding to our 6-month survey report working at sites such as hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities or schools.
