Arkansas State University's Physical Therapy Department offers the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in a three year format with a new class starting every Summer Semester (June). Graduation occurs in May at the end of the third academic year. We are fortunate in PT to have well prepared, high energy faculty as well as tremendous resources on campus that provide a variety of unique learning opportunities for our students. Some of the unique resources we have on campus include:* HippoTherapy Center, directed by Farley Schweighart, Professor of Physical Therapy* Beck PRIDE Center, a program specifically designed to aid America's wounded veterans. * Clinical services are provided by physical therapy faculty and students on our campus.* Speech and Hearing Center, a comprehensive clinical facility staffed by the Department of Communication Disorders that offers interdisciplinary, clinical, and research opportunities for our faculty and students.* Reynolds Center for Health Sciences Center - This facility includes two PT research labs equipped with state of the art equipment. * Schroth Based Physical Therapy - a Scoliosis rehab, directed by Dr. Shawn Drake, Professor of Physical Therapy. We are one of only a few universities in the country to offer both the DPT degree and the PTA degree. The Department of Physical Therapy is located in the College of Nursing and Health Professions at ASTATE. The interdisciplinary nature of our college affords our students and faculty many opportunities for interdisciplinary education and research.
